They were also awarded as Academic State Champions for 1A, Division 1 for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.934. Sage Elven was Prairie’s lone state champion in 2023 as she won the discus at the State Track Meet with a personal best mark of 129’3”. The players are throwing up 3 fingers to signify it is the third straight year with the third place trophy. Gordon and Pepper Harman along with a crew from Quinn Wemhoff, removed the safe from the former Harman Agency office. The safe was built in 1906 and had been in that building since it was built following the 1908 fire. Photo from May 25, 2023 edition of the Chronicle.   A storm on June 27 dumped over 2.5 inches of rain in about an hour, flooding much of Cottonwood. Photos from the July 6, 2023 Chronicle.  The Angelus Center at St. John Bosco is shown in mid-July.
