Sandy "The Chess Guy" will be running the "8th Annual Clearwater Family Chess Tournament" on May 18th from 9AM to 5PM at "St. Peter & Paul School" located in Grangeville at 330 S. B. St.
There will be lots of prizes including big Cash for local students participating.
This tournament is for beginners ages 6 and up and will be enforcing quiet, and touch move rules.
No clocks will be used except as needed at the end of rounds to finish up the last boards.
Sets will be provided.
Paper recording of games is optional but encouraged.
Last year we had 39 participants and filled up our first Perpetual Trophy with winners.  
We want to thank Freedom Northwest Credit Union for donating $1000 to the prize fund.
Adults, Seniors and out-of-towners will be allowed to participate as well but the cash prizes are reserved for local students.
Food and Beverages will be available for purchase and parents and family are encouraged to come and watch and cheer on the players.
