Pirates compete at 3 meets
Prairie track athletes broke a few more school records at 3 different meets held in the past week.
On Tuesday, April 9 they competed at the Leah Swanson Memorial/Deary Invitational at Lapwai where Trenton Lorentz broke the school record in the 400 meter dash in a time of 50.2. This record was deemed unofficial due to issues with the timing system.. Also Dylan Uhlenkott, Noah Geis, Ben Secrest and Trenton Lorentz broke the school record in the 4x100 relay with a time of 44.56. And finally, Matt Wemhoff broke his school record in the javelin with a toss of 131’5” and Elizabeth Severns broke Hailey Hanson’s 3-day old school record in the javelin with a mark of 100’4”.
 The previous 4x100 mark was set last year with Dylan Uhlenkott replacing Bennie Elven in the lineup. The old record was 45.31.
On Friday, April 12, the team traveled to the Moscow Invitational. Although no school records were broken at that meet, Sydney Shears came very close to breaking her 800 meter record.
Finally on Saturday, April13 a limited group of athletes competed at the Nez Perce Games at Kamiah where Lorentz officially broke the school's 400 meter dash with a time of  50.49. Lorentz broke the 400 meter record previously held by Lucas Arnzen of 50.89 set in 2014.

In addition to being part of two new school records, Lorentz finished first in the 100 in 11.43 and 1st in the 200 in 23.20. He also finished 1st in the 400 and the 4x100 team finished 1st.
Wemhoff was first in the javelin. He was also 11th in the 100 in 12.35.
Bennie Elven took first in the discus with a personal bet of 158’2”, which is just 1’8.5” shy of the school record. He was also third in the shot put at 42’4½” and 16th in the javelin at 77’11”.
For the girls team Sydney Shears was 1st in the 400 in 1:01.26and 1st in the 1600 in 5:48.20. She was also tied for 2nd in the high jump at 4’8”.
Aubree Geis took 1st in the 800 in 2:44.22. She was also 3rd in the 1600 in 6:34.67.
Despite setting a new school record, Severns placed 2nd in the javelin. She was also 3rd in the discus at 101’0”, 7th in the 3200 in 16:02.97 and 8th in the shot put at 26’11½”.
Other boys results:
Ben Secrest was 2nd in the 400 in 53.0 and 7th in the javelin at 109’9”.
Zane Uptmor was 2nd in the 110 hurdles in 18.36, 9th in the discus at 112’10” and 10th in the 300 hurdles at 50.09.
Uhlenkott was 3rd in the 200 in 24.28, 3rd in the 400 at 53.4 and 4th in the 100 in 12.00.
Briggs Rambo was 3rd in the 300 hurdles in 46.58, 3rd in the pole vault at 9’6” and 7th in the 110 hurdles in 19.78.
Lee Forsmann was 3rd in the discus at 143’2” and 7th in the shot put at 36’1”.
Payton Stamper was 4th in the long jump at 17’7”, 19th in the 400 in 1:00.52 and 23rd in the 100 in 12.89.
Geis was 5th in the 100 in 12.18, 8th in the 200 in 25.03 and 10th in the 400 in 55.8.
Cole Duclos was 6th in the pole vault at 8’6” and 19th in the 200 in 25.96.
Landon Riener was 7th in the 3200 in 14:17.44 and 17th in the 800 in 2:56.86.
Logan Weber was 8th in the high jump at 5’2”.
Caden Armbrust was 10th in the 800 in 2:21.87 and 10th in the 1600 in 5:39.30.
Nate Forsmann was 10th in the discus at 110’5” and 15th in the shot put at 31’8”.
Ashton Martin was 13th in the discus at 96’7” and 23rd in the shot put at 27’8”.
Peter Remacle was 15th in the discus at 94’4” and 24th in the shot put at 27’5½”.
Levi Gehring was 16th in the long jump at 15’4”.
Gabe Decaria was 18th in the long jump at 14’7”.
The 4x200 relay team of Wemhoff, Duclos, Secrest and Weber was 1st in 1:36.79 while the team of Decaria, Gering, Rambo and Martin was 7th in 1:47.87.
The 4x400 team of Duclos, Gehring, Weber and Wemhoff was 3rd in 3:44.72.
The medley relay team of Gehring, Weber, Decaria and Armbrust was 3rd in 4:26.97.
As a team the boys placed 1st with 163.7 pts.
Other girls results:
Sage Elven was 2nd in the discus at 127’2½”, 2nd in the shot put at 35’1” and 3rd in the javelin at 91’3”.
Callie Remacle was tied for 2nd in the high jump at 4’8”, 4th in the long jump at 14’2½”,  8th in the 1600 in 7:14.65 and 16th in the 300 hurdles in 1:00.49.
Hanson was 3rd in the discus at 110’6½”, 4th in the javelin at 90’2½”, 5th in the shot put at 30’9” and 21st in the 100 in 15.01.
Sierra Oliver was 3rd in the pole vault at 6’6”, 3rd in the 300 hurdles at 52.43 and 7th in the 100 hurdles in 19.36.
Avery Riener was 4th in the triple jump at 30’8” and 15th in the 300 hurdles in 1:00.35
Kennedy Reiner was 5th in the 100 in 13.86 and 7th in the 400 in 1:04.48.
Evelyn Gehring was 5th in the 800 in 2:54.41 and 11th in the 300 hurdles in 56.66.
Ella McLeod was 6th in the 3200 in 15:33.76 and 9th in the 9—in 3:10.26.
Harlee Brannan was 8th in the javelin at 67’3”, 10th in the discus at 88’8” and 22nd in the shot put at 21’10½”.
Nadia Cash was tied for 8th in the long jump at 13’5”.
Alli Geis was also tied for 8th in the long jump at 13’5”.
Aubree Rehder was 12th in the long jump at 12’6”.
Meghan Fowler was 13th in the javelin at 44’8”, 13th in the discus at 79’1½” and 23rd in the shot put at 19’10”.
Kyra Robertson was 28th in the shot put at 17’9” and 31st in the discus at 42’3”.
The girls 4x100 tea of Cash, Kennedy Riener, Avery Riener and Shears placed 1st in 52.74.
The medley relay team of Cash, Aubree Geis, Rehder and Alli Geis placed 1st in 2:02.70.
The 4x200 team of Alli Geis, Aubree Geis, Rehder and Cash placed 2nd in 1:54.83.
The 4x400 team of Rehder, Oliver, Gehring and Avery Riener was 2nd in 4:34.54.
As a team the girls placed 1st with 175.67 points.
Moscow Invitational
There were 19 schools at the Moscow Invitational including 5A schools Coeur d’Alene, Lake City, post Falls and Lewiston.
Shears and Sage Elven were Prairie’s only individual first place finishers with the boys and girls 4x200 relays also both taking first.
Shears won the 800 in 2:24.47. She was also 2nd in the 1600 in 5:37.20 and 14th in the high jump at 4’4”.
Elven won the discus with a mark of 131’8”. She was also third in the shot put at 34’5”.
The girls 4x200 team of All Geis, Aubree Rehder, Avery Riener and Kennedy Riener won with a time of 1:52.99.
The boys 4x200 team of Uhlenkott, Wemhoff, Weber and Geis won with a time of 1:35.20.
Other boys results:
Wemhoff was 2nd in the javelin at 129’7”.
Uhlenkott was 2nd in the 200 in 23.67.
Elven was third in the discus at 149’6” and 4th in the shot put at 43’9½”.
Weber was 5th in the high jump at 5’4”, 22nd in the 400 in 57.18 and 24th in the 200 in 25.30.
Secrest was 7th in the 400 in 53.91 and 12th in the javelin at 103’10”.
Uptmor was 8th in the 110 hurdles at 18.68, 9th in the discus at 114’0” and 14th in the 300 hurdles in 49.37.
Rambo was 8th in the 300 hurdles in 47.57, 12th in the pole vault at 9’0” and 16th in the 110 hurdles in 20.22.
Duclos was 13th in the pole vault at 9’0”, 29th in the 200 in 25.65 and 30th in the 100 in 12.91.
Geis was 16th in the 400 in 55.78.
The 4x400 team of Geis, Wemhoff, Secrest and Uhlenkott was 3rd in 3:36.88.
The 4x100 team of Uhlenkott, Wemhoff, Secrest and Geis was 4th in 46.14.
As a team they finish in 4th with 56 points behind Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Moscow.
Other girls results:
Severns was 2nd in the discus at 111’3” and 24th in the shot put at 27’1”.
Hanson was 3rd in the discus at 106’8” and 19th in the shot at 28’9½”
Kennedy Riener was 3rd in the 200 in 27.59 and 5th in the 100 in 13.58.
Oliver was 4th in the 300 hurdles in 51.86, 8th I the 100 hurdles in 18.33 and  11th in the 100 in 14.10.
Avery Riener was 7th in the triple jump at 31’5”.
Cash was 8th in the long jump at 14’5½”, 10th in the 100 in 14.05 and 16th in the 200 in 29.47.
Aubree Geis was 8th in the 800 in 2:36.38 and 16th in the 1600 in 6:14.88.
Alli Geis was 10th in the 400 in 1:05.08.
Remacle was 13th in the high jump at 4’6”, 14th in the long jump at 13’9” and 16th in the 100 hurdles in 19.75.
Aubree Rehder was 19th in the 200 in 29.84.
The 4x100 team of Cash, Avery Riener, Rehder and Kennedy Riener was 3rd in 53.76.
The 4x400 team of All Geis, Aubree Geis, Avery Riener and Shears was 3rd in 4:16.33.
As a team the girls placed 3rd with 90 points behind only Moscow and Coeur d’Alene.
Nez Perce Games
Lorentz, who was unable to go to Moscow, finished 1st in all 3 sprints at the Nez Perce Games at Kamiah. He won the 100 in 11.31, the 200 in 23.25 and the 400 in 50.49.
McLeod was the top finisher for the girls with a pair of 2nd place finishes. She was 2nd in the 800 in 3:07.32 and 2nd in the 3200 in 15:41.81
Other boys results:
Levi Gehring was 4th in the 400 in 58.29, 8th in the 200 in 26.49 and 11th in the 100 in 12.97.
Armbrust was 2nd in the 3200 in 12:18.57, 4th in the 800 in 2:22.04 and 4th in the 1600 in 5:35.50.
Riener was 3rd in the 110 hurdles in 21.41 and 7th in the 800 in 2:43.15.
Ashton Martin was 8th in the discus at 98’5”, 11th in the 200 in 26.86 and 15th in the shot put at 26’10½”.
Peter Remacle was 9th in the discus at 96’4”,  14th in the shot put at 28’5”and 24th in the 100 in 16.65.
DeCaria was 12th in the 400 in 1:12.92; 16th in the 100 in 13.63 and 20th in the 200 in 30.05.
The 4x100 team of Martin, Gehring, Decaria and Lorentz was 2nd in 51.38.
As a team the boys were 2nd with 73 points.
Other girls results:
Gehring was 3rd in the 3200 in 15:34.36; 5th in the 1600 in 7:06.95 and 5th in the 300 hurdles in 56.40.
Brannan was 4th in the discus at 80’9½”, 10th in the shot put at 22’8”,  and 14th in the 200 in 34.75.
Fowler was 6th in the discus at 78’7”, 11th in the shot put at 21’10” and 15th in the 200 in 35.37.
Robertson was 13th in the discus at 56’9” and 14th in the shot put at 17’6½”
As a team the girls were 7th with 38 points.
