Regional Track Meet to be at Lapwai
Prairie will be competing at the Regional Track Meet this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, at Lapwai.
Friday field events will start at 2 p.m. with the boys discus, girls pole vault and boys long jump. When those events are completed the girls shot put, boys high jump and girls triple jump will be held.
At 3 p.m. the 3200 meter finals will be held with the girls race followed by the boys.
Once the field events and the 3200 are done the running preliminaries will be held starting with the girls100 meter hurdles. They will be followed by the boys110 meter hurdles, the 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 300 hurdles and 200 meter dash. The final running event on Friday will be the medley relay.
Saturday’s session starts at 10 a.m. with the boys pole vault, girls discus and girls long jump. When those are finished the boys shot put, girls high jump and boys triple jump with be held.
About 20 minutes after the field events finish the running finals will start (approximately 1 p.m.). They will start with girls 100 meter hurdles then the boys 110 meter hurdles. Next will be the 4x200 relays followed by the 100 meter dash, 800 meter run, 4x100 relays, 400 meter dash; 300 meter hurdles, 200 meter dash, 1600 meter run and 4x400 relays.
