Primary Election set for Tuesday
The Primary Election is set for next Tuesday, May 21. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Of local interest on the ballot is the $175,000 override levy for School District #242. This is the lowest amount asked by the District in many years. The only contested races on the ballot is in the Republican primary. Incumbent Charlie Shepherd is receiving a challenge from Larry Dunn for District 7 State Representative Seat B. Vying to replace retiring Mike Kingsley for District 7 State Representative Seat A are former Idaho County Commissioner Jim Chmelik and Kyle N. Harris. The only other contested race is for Idaho County Commissioner, District 3 where Brad Higgins and Cody Killmar vie for the position currently held by Denis Duman, who is retiring.
