To the Library and Beyond
Apologies for not mentioning Josh Lustig who, on Saturday 4 May, helped move Library books and more with his pickup.  Needless to say, Josh, we are very grateful for all you did to help us.  There may have been another volunteer whose identity eludes us; if you were there and we didn’t mention you, please let us know.  Many thanks to Wyatt Latimer for the photo that made the front page last week!  Volunteers have been busy fitting shelves into bookcases and filling those shelves with books!  “Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action.”  We thank Colleen Wilson, Joan Brown, Kristin Frish and Greg and Lydia Deiss for all the work you’ve done setting the Library back to “rights.”
This month Library volunteers continue testing established procedures.  We continue Awareness of Mental Health and Mobility.  We continually endeavor to Get Caught Reading Short Stories written by Older Americans.  “[The more that we read, the more things we will know; the more that we learn, the more places we'll go]”!
This week Library volunteers will continue adjusting shelf support clips to shelf standards, fitting shelves to their cases, emptying books from boxes and filling shelves with those books.
In 2022 the Library loaned 2,073 items; 1,518 of those were children’s items.
The volunteers who manage and operate Prairie Community Library aspire to gain the utmost trust of our patrons.  We hope you find us reliably honest and truthful.
Volunteering helps us explore our interests and improves self-esteem.”  Send your volunteer message to < cottonwoodlib@gmail.com >.  Please recommend improvements to the Library’s direction, priorities and customer service.  Thank you all!
