State Track Meet set for Middleton
Prairie High School has 21 athletes making the trip to the State Track Meet set for Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 at Middleton.
The first Prairie athletes to compete will be Sage Elven and Hailey Hanson in the girls shot put which is set to start at 10:30 a.m. MDT.
At noon Bennie Elven and Lee Forsmann will compete in the boys shot put and Callie Remacle will compete in the girls high jump.
At 1:30 Sage Elven, Hanson and Elizabeth Severns will compete in the girls Discus and Nadia Cash will compete in the girls long jump.
At 3 p.m. Bennie Elven will compete in the boys discus.
Running preliminaries start at 3:30 p.m. with the girls 100 meter hurdles. Zane Uptmor will be competing in the boys 110 hurdles prelims and is in the second of two heats.
The 100 meter dash prelims follow the hurdles. Next come the 400 meter dash prelims where Aubree Geis will be in the first of 2 heats of girls 400 and Matt Wemhoff will be in the first of 2 heats of boys 400.
After a 20 minute break Briggs Rambo will be in the first of 2 heats of boys 300 hurdles.
Next are the 200 meter dash prelims. Trenton Lorentz is in the first of 2 heats of boys 200 while Dylan Uhlenkott is in the second heat.
Ending the day will be the medley relay finals. The 1A girls will be the second race run with the team of Alli Geis, Aubree Rehder, Kennedy Riener and Sydney Shears competing for Prairie.
On Saturday at 9 a.m. Avery Riener will be competing in the girls triple jump and Cole Duclos and Rambo will be competing in the pole vault.
The Parade of Athletes will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Running finals start at 12:30 p.m. with the girls 100 hurdles followed by the boys 110 hurdles.
Next up is the 4x200 relay with the girls team of Alli Geis, Cash, Kennedy Riener and Sydney Shears and the boys team of Uhlenkott, Noah Geis, Ben Secrest and Trenton Lorentz both competing.
Next up are the 100 meter finals and then the 800 meter race. Shears will be competing in the girls 800.
The 4x100 relay follows with the boys team of Wemhoff, Geis, Secrest and Uhlenkott set to compete.
Next is the 400 meter finals and then a 20 minute break before the 300 hurdles.
The 200 meter finals are next followed by the 1600 meter final. Shears will be in the girls 1600 race.
Ending the day are the 4x400 finals. The girls team of Alli Geis, Aubree Geis, Avery Riener and Kennedy Riener and the boys team of Wemhoff, Secrest, Uhlenkott and Lorentz will be competing.
