Primary election results
The Cottonwood School Override Levy passed
with a 71% yes vote in the election held Tuesday, May 21. There were
426 yes votes and 171 no votes In the one contested Idaho County race, Brad Higgins outpolled Cody Killmar 2,753 to 1,666 for the Republican nomination for Idaho County Commissioner for District 3. They were vying to replace Denis Duman who is stepping down once his term is over. Incumbent Idaho County Sheriff Doug Ulmer, incumbent Idaho County Commissioner District 1 Skip Brandt and incumbent Idaho County Prosecutor Kirk MacGregor was all unopposed in the Republican primary. Ther was also a rare contested race for Republican Precinct Committeeman for Cottonwood precinct 1. Debby O’Neill defeated Scott Perrin 80 to 63. In the Republican primary for District 7 State Representative Position A, Kyle N. Harris outpolled Jim Chmelik 3,731 to 3,497. He will face Democrat VickieNostrant in November. She was unopposed in the primary. In the Republican primary for District 7 State Representative Position B, incumbent Charlie Shepherd held off challenger Larry Dunn 4,440 to 2,920. He will face Democrat Dustin Hardisty in November. He was also unopposed in the primary. For District 7 State Senator both Republican incumbent Cindy Carlson and Democrat Bill Farmer were unopposed in the primary and will face off in November. |
