Northwest Imaging Announces Installation of New Oasis Velocity High-Field Open MRI System
Northwest Imaging, a division within the Northwest Specialty Hospital family of clinics, is excited to announce the arrival of the latest advancement in MRI technology: the OASIS Velocity High-Field OPEN MRI by Fujifilm. This revolutionary machine is set to transform the imaging experience for our patients, providing a comfortable and reassuring environment while enhancing diagnostic accuracy. NWSH will be housing the Velocity MRI machine in a new space designed specifically for this device.
The Oasis Velocity has an accommodating design that reassures patients, as well as a broadrange of clinical capabilities and features to meet the demand of today’s diagnostic imaging professionals. Fujifilm has been a long-time pioneer of diagnostic imaging systems, with morethan 1,500 CT and MR systems installed in the United States. With the installation of the Velocity, NWSH continues to demonstrate its commitment to cutting edge technology by being the first imaging facility to utilize the Velocity in North Idaho.
The inside of the Velocity gantry provides a 270° unobstructed view, which minimizes anxiety and claustrophobia, creating a more pleasant environment for the patient during the MR exam. This feature also allows the patient to have a loved one or friend nearby during the exam for further reassurance, a capability which is especially helpful for older patients and children who may experience apprehension during MR exams.
Velocity combines unparalleled patient comfort with powerful technology and an ultra-fast workstation to make patient exams as quick and smooth as possible. Its imaging power is further boosted by an array of anatomically-specific, optimized receiver coils that allow advanced imaging applications ranging from vascular to orthopedic to women’s health.
The new Oasis Velocity MR system will offer physicians and patients within the North Idaho community access to the most advanced diagnostic imaging techniques currently available in the healthcare industry.
The Velocity MRI will be housed at Northwest Imaging’s main facility, located at 750 N. Syringa St., Suite 105, in Post Falls. Northwest Imaging will be offering Velocity MR exams to patients beginning in mid July.
