To the Library and Beyond Prairie Community Library is closed for July 4th, but our Grand Re-Opening is scheduled for Thursday 18 July; come join us 10 AM till 5 PM for prizes, games, activities and treats! Be sure to mark your calendar! In July, Prairie Community Library wants to reward our hard-working volunteers. Nationally we are observing Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. “Volunteering helps us build our networks and improves our physical and mental health and wellbeing.” On Sunday 7 July we can practice Global Forgiveness Day. Monday, July 8 might be a good day to celebrate National Freezer Pop Day. Keeping it country, Tuesday, July 9 is Cow Appreciation Day. On Wednesday, July 10 we can plug in, or unplug, to observe Global Energy Independence Day. Thursday, July 11 is a friendly National reminder to Cheer Up the Lonely Day. On Friday, July 12 we can leave the past behind and begin New Conversations Day. Saturday, July 13 is National Barbershop Music Appreciation Day. In 2020 Prairie Community Library loaned 2,178 items; in 2019 librarians added 779 items to the Library Collection. The volunteers who manage and operate Prairie Community Library aspire to build alliances with partners and projects that complement our mission of service to the community and our purpose of providing all desired literary support. We invite our patrons to recommend improvements to the organization’s direction, priorities, and customer service. We greatly appreciate all our volunteers. Help us help you find a pleasant way to fill your spare time. Send your volunteer message to cottonwoodlib@gmail.com. You’ll be glad you did. "Goodness is the only investment that never fails."
