To the Library and Beyond
This week Colleen has selected three additions to the New Arrivals shelf:  Catholic Customs And Traditions by Greg Dues “is packed with easy to find facts about church topics.”  In Fast And Loose by Stuart Woods, familiar hero “Stone Barrington is enjoying a boating excursion off the coast of Maine when a chance encounter leaves him somewhat the worse for wear.”  David M. Kennedy edited Library Of Congress World War II Companion; contributing writers “considered the politics, military leadership, weaponry, roles of resistance groups and underground fighters; war crimes and daily life during wartime; the uses of propaganda; and much more.”  If you enjoy picture books, Rachel, Javier and Rosie recommend Winnie the Pooh CD Storybook.
Joan reviewed a nonfiction book titled Leave Only Footprints, authored by Conor Knighton and published in 2020.  The author visited each National Park in the United States.  In this book he describes the parks and provides some of the history of each park.  He adds highlights of those things most important in each park.  And here is a little info for your trivia repertoire:  Although there are 429 national park locations in the United States – found in 31 states and two U.S. territories – only 63 of them have “National Park” in their names.
