32 turn out for PHS volleyball

SCHEDULE FOR 2024
There are 32 girls out for volleyball at Prairie High School this year. There will be 12 full-time varsity players with an additional 3 that will play both JV and varsity. Coach Julie Schumacher said 15 is the most you can suit up. There are 5 seniors: Lexi Schumacher, Tamden Pecarovich, Aubree Rehder, Ellie Nuxoll and Kaylie Lockett. There are also 6 juniors: Sydney Shears, Hailey Hanson, Sierra Oliver, Kylie Schumacher, Avery Riener and Lacey Schwartz. A freshman, Mia Anderson, is the other full-time varsity player. Swing players will be sophomores Nadia Cash and Erica Schlader and freshman Beka Schumacher. Also on the JV team are sophomores Halee Rowland and Avery Kehler and freshmen Faith Cash, Blake Uhlenkott and Macie Uhlenkott. On the C Team are a senior, Kadence Kalmbach; sophomores Kennedy Riener, Maggie Nuxoll and Kylee Riggers and freshmen Zoey Behler, Avery Schacher, Mikayla Rowland, Alli Rambo, Grace Kaschmitter, Molly Fowler, Kenly Forsmann and Sheridan Ousnamer. The team saw their first action this past Tuesday at the Prairie Jamboree. They jump right into league action this Thursday, August 29 when they host Logos with JV action starting at 6 p.m. at the PHS gym. The New Plymouth Tournament that was to be this Saturday, August 31, has been cancelled. Instead they will be going to the Lewiston Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 7.
