Prairie competes at Seaport Invite
The Prairie Cross Country team competed at the Seaport Invite in Clarkston last Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The top finishers for the high school team were Phineas Fitch, who placed 15th in the boys race at 19:14.27 and Evelyn Gehring, who placed 18th in the girls race at 24:46.38.
The boys team placed 6th out of 8 teams with 148 points. Chase VonBargen was 30th in 20:22.02. Matthew Jones was 41st in 21:35.59. Kento Morita was 64th in 24:27.59. Landon Riener was 77th in 26:40.34. Kade Hansen was 81st in 28:52.88 and Onyx Lish was 82nd in 29:02.36.
The girls team placed 7th with 121 points. Ella McLeod was 31st in 27:12.42. Reagan Brannan was 34th in 27:33.89. Callie Remacle was 38th in 28:48.14 and Lillianne Lustig was 43rd in 29:54.40.
The junior high team competed at their first meet of the season. They have just 2 competitors, 1 boy and 1 girl. The boy, 7th grader Koyle Jones, had the best finish of the day for a Prairie runner as he finished 2nd in 9:41.62. 7th grader Madalynn VonBargen placed 33rd in the girls race in 13:35.73.
The next competition for Prairie will be their own meet which will be next Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the Prairie Football/Track and Field complex.
