Homecoming Powderpuff events
The Junior-Sophomore team dominated the Powderpuff Football game Wednesday, Sept. 18 during Homecoming Week as they won 26-0.
Juniors Sage Elven and Avery Riener hooked up for the game’s first touchdown with Riener catching a pass from Elven.
The Jr.-Soph. team struck again in the first quarter with Elven passing to Nadia Cash for a touchdown.
In the second quarter Elven passed to Sierra Oliver for another touchdown they added the 2-point conversion and led 20-0 at the half.
There was no scoring in the third quarter as the Senior-Freshman team adjusted on defense.
The only scoring of the second half came on an 85 yard interception return for a touchdown by Elven in the final seconds when it appeared the Sr.-Fr. Team might finally get on the scoreboard.
The action then moved from the football field to the Elementary gym where the boys held a volleyball tournament.
The senior beat the freshmen 15-6 in the opening match while the juniors beat the sophomore, also by 15-6.
In an elimination match the sophomores edged the freshmen 15-12.
The seniors then rallied from a 13-9 deficit to win 15-13 on the strength of Dylan Uhlenkott’s serving.
The juniors then eliminated the sophomores 15-7.
The juniors then needed to beat the seniors twice to claim the powderpuff volleyball title.
The juniors dominated the first set winning 15-4.
In the winner-take-all match the juniors held on for a 15-11 win
