Pirates at Spartan Invite The Prairie cross country team traveled to Deyo Reservoir near Weippe for the Spartan Invite on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Prairie High School boys team won the team competition as they were the only ones with at least 5 runners. Phineas Fitch was the top finisher as he placed 9th in 19:23.69. Chase VonBargen was 11th in 19:42.09. Matthew Jones was 15th in 20:35.72. Kento Morita was 20th in 21:44.97. Landon Riner was 29th in 25:08.34 and Gabe Decaria was 31st in 27:37.53. Onyx Lish started but was unable to finish. Kade Hansen and Joe Shaw did not make it to the meet. The high school girls team started with 5 runners but only 4 were able to finish. Evelyn Gehring was the top finisher as she placed 3rd in 24:33.39. Ella McLeod was 6th in 25:50.84. Lillianne Lustig was 9th in 28:01.20. Bella Musich was 21st in 38::01.67. Reagan Brannan started the race but was unable to finish. Callie Remacle did not make it to the meet. In the junior high races, Koyle Jone finished 2nd in the boys race in 12:09.81 while Madalyn VonBargen placed 7th in the girls race in 15:10.17. The team has added another meet as both the high school and junior high runners will compete at the Troy Invite on Monday, Oct. 14.
