New Snach Shack progressing
Progress is being made on the new Snack
Shack building on the Idaho County Fair Grounds. The old building
has been removed and the new walls are already up. Initially, only the
building and appliances were being replaced. However, considering
the age and condition of the roof over the picnic table area, the board
decided that they also needed to address those problems at this time.
According to the Idaho County Fair Board there are several improvements being incorporated into the new building and the adjoining picnic table area. The new building will have a more open design and two new concession windows which will be covered by overhead doors that will be very easy to raise and lower. A 6’ by 9’ walk-in cooler is being added onto the south end of the building. The new roof over the picnic table area will be larger in order to cover twice as many tables. Protected from rain, wind, and sun, this central area is the most popular gathering place for families and friends attending the fair They will be updating the hood, grill, and other appliances in the new Snack Shack. The hope is to purchase a used hood that is in good condition from a restaurant that is closing or upgrading. They are also starting a project to replace the green wooden tables with metal picnic tables, similar to the new tables in the Cottonwood City Park. In addition to being more durable, metal tables are much easier for people to use… especially for the elderly. This project will make the Idaho County Fair even more enjoyable, and comfortable for everyone to attend. If you are interesting in helping support this project financially there are a few different options. You can make a donation towards the building or kitchen appliances Idaho County Fair Board Idaho County Court House 320 W Main St. Rm. 3 Grangeville, ID. 83530 Or drop your donation off at any Cottonwood Credit Union branch A business or a family might consider purchasing a table and having a name plate attached with a family or business name. The nameplate could also be in memory of parents or grandparents. Currently, the estimated price for each table after adding shipping costs is $1175.
