Space
Derby held
The April pack meeting for Cub Scout Pack #638 was held Thursday April 16th, 2004. The theme for this month’s meeting was the “SPACE DERBY’. Each scout had to build a rubber band propelled rocket that traveled on a 40-foot guideline. Each scout competed a total of 3 times for a combined total distance. In the Webelos Den, 1st place went to Mitchel Jungert, 2nd place Garrett Workman, and 3rd place was a 3-way tie between Mikey Karel, Kyle Bruegeman, and Seth Guyer. In the Bear Den, there was a 3-way tie for 1st place and the tie breaking rounds were then determined by limiting the number of winds each scout could wind their rocket. After a tough fought battle, 1st place went to Seth Chaffee, 2nd place Frank Spencer, and 3rd place Matthew Jungert. In the Wolf Den, 1st place went to Dakota Wilson and 2nd place to Drew Cochran. All participants received medals for their hard work. Les Schwab, Assistant Manager, Rick Workman presented T-shirts to the 1st place winners and Seth Guyer received a T-shirt for the hard luck award. All the scouts, parents, and friends had a great time. Scout Pack #638 would like to thank everyone that attended the Space Derby and the Pack would like to extend a special thanks to Les Schwab Tire Center and Assistant Manager, Rick Workman. |
