3 relays win at Kamiah
Nicole Nida won the 100 meter dash and was part of 3 winning relay teams at the Lewis & Clark Games track meet at Kamiah Saturday, May 24. Nida won the 100 in 13.2. In the 4x200 meter relay Nida led off with Kayla Uhlenkott, Bridget Enneking and Vanessa Sonnen filling out the team. Enneking gave Sonnen the baton in second place and Sonnen blew by Orofino’s anchor runner to win the event in 1:53.8. In the 4x100 meter relay Nida led off with Uhlenkott, Tabitha Sonnen and Vanessa Sonnen running the other legs. Prairie won in 54.2. In the medley relay Uhlenkott ran the opening 100 meter leg with Enneking running the second 100. Nida ran the 200 leg and handed off to Vanessa Sonnen a substantial lead. Timberline’s anchor runner made up the difference by the backstretch of the 400 meter anchor leg but Sonnen held her off to win in 2:04.5. Other top 4 finishers for Prairie were Vanessa Sonnen with a third in the triple jump at 30’10½” and Tabitha Sonnen with a fourth in the 200 meter dash in 30.2. The girls team placed sixth out of 11 scoring teams with 61 points. The boys team mustered just 3 points with no top 4 finishers.
