wins at CIL meet
Tabitha Sonnen was Prairie’s lone first place finisher at the Central Idaho League meet at Lapwai Tuesday, May 4. She won the 100 hurdles in 17.7. She was also second in the 300 hurdles in 53.2. Nicole Nida was third in the 200 in 28.0. Lauren Merrill was second in the long jump but no mark was available. Prairie placed in all 4 relays with the 4x200 relay taking second in 1:54.7. The 4x100 relay was third in 54.3. The medley relay was third in 2:03.4 and the 4x400 relay was third in 5:02.4. The girls team placed third in the team standings behind Grangeville and Orofino. In the boys competition Prairie placed fifth among the 8 teams. J.D. Riener with a third place finish in the discus at 111’7” was the only top 3 finisher for the boys team. Pirates compete at All-Star meet The Prairie girls track team had two second place finishes and 3 thirds at the All-Star Track Meet held at Lewiston Thursday, May 6. Vanessa Sonnen took second in the triple jump at a season best 32’0” and the 4x100 relay was second in 53.2. Tabitha Sonnen took third in the 100 hurdles in 17.3 and was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 51.7. Also taking third was the 4x200 relay team in 1:51.6 and the medley relay team in 2:01.2. Allison Jones was fourth in the high jump at 4’4” and Nicole Nida was fifth in the 100 at 13.3. The Prairie track teams next meet will be the Regional Meet which will be at Kamiah Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15.
