win titles at Pomeroy
Shane Poxleitner and Nick Uhlenkott of the Prairie Wrestling Team both won their weight classes at the annual Pomeroy Christmas Wrestling Tournament held Thursday, Dec. 30. Uhlenkott defended his title at 145 lbs. winning all three of his matches. In his first round he pinned Alex Eveleth of Pullman in 1:11. In his second match he pinned Chris Roff of Walla Walla in 1:43. In the championship match he won a 16-9 decision over Jake Fischer of Pomeroy. At 140 lbs. Poxleitner won all three of his matches by pin. In the first round he defeated Dustin Moreland of Union in 33 seconds. In the second round he defeated Jay Klicker off Walla Walla in 1:57. In the championship match he defeated Jacob Sully of Pullman in 1:40. At 125 lbs. Tony Duman finished in 5th place. He lost by pin in his opening round match to Jeff Jordon of Colfax. In the second round he got a bye and in the third round he lost 11-8 to Dallas Hash of Potlatch. In the fifth place match he won by pin over Russ Thompson in 4:26. Also competing for Prairie were Richard Sonnen and Kenneth Enneking. Both were eliminated after two matches. Sonnen , at 152 lbs., lost his first round match by pin to Dustin Hardy of Colfax in 28 seconds. In his elimination match against Steven Reeves of Dayton, he took the early lead with a takedown but wound up losing by pin in 2:32. Enneking, at 171 lbs., also lost both matches by pin. He lost to Shawn McCarver of Potlatch in 1:44 and was eliminated by Bryan Boothman of Union in 22 seconds.
