Deaths
Marie Agnes Lawrence, 92, died Dec. 2. She was born March 11, 1911 in Wyoming. A memorial service will be held Sept. 4 at the Community Hall in Ferdinand.
Ralph J. Winkler, 63, died Aug. 30 at Syringa Hospital in Grangeville. He was born Oct. 23, 1940, at Greencreek.
Karl E. Johnson, 85, died Sept. 1 in Spokane. Karl was born April 29, 1919 in Grangeville. He served in the Navy and had worked as a “Gandy Dancer” on the railroad.
Jacob Henry Riener, 17, died Sept. 10. He was born May 15, 1987 in Cottonwood to Lynn and Gary Riener.
Dwight A. Eckert, 56, died Sept. 18 at his home in Lewiston. He was born Aug. 13, 1948, in Cottonwood.
Patricia A. Kilwein, 79, died Aug 22 at her home in Lewiston. She was born April 12, 1925, in Ferdinand.
Russell H. Ross, 39. Died Sept. 12 at his home in Oregon. He was born Oct. 11, 1964 in Grangeville.
Earl J. Trautman, 79, died Sept. 24 at his home in Lewiston. Earl was born April 12, 1925, at Greencreek. Earl was a farmer and loved steel head fishing.

Ryan Aiken to Michelle Riener to wed Oct. 2 at Assumption Catholic Church in Ferdinand.
Sarah Sonnen to Ethan Remacle to wed Oct. 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood.
October
Fred Hoene, son of Gus and Leah Hoene, in July took his copy of the Cottonwood Chronicle to the North Pole.
In mid October scarecrows began to appear in front of buisnesses in Cottonwood.
In October the School District No. 242 board worked on the grading scale so that grades were the same for each student and teacher. So that a grade of A ment 90 to 100 in all grade levels.
Lion’s Club members replace more of the bike path at the city park with concrete.
Adeline Lustig and Cody Lorentz are students of the month for October at the High School.

Lawrence E. Petty, 82, died Sept.30 in Lacey, Wash. He was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Olympia, Wash.
Leo R. Kaschmitter, 80, died Oct. 21. He was born Jan. 9, 1924 in Cottonwood. Leo was a farmer on the Camas Prairie.
Clara Mary Ann Schumacher, 85, died Oct. 18 in Spokane Valley. Clara was born Sept. 21, 1919 in Greencreek. She is survived by three sons and two daughters.
Bonnie A. Stinson, 68, died Oct. 20 at her family home.
Weddings
Lacey Rae Terhaar and Dane Michael Crea were married Sept. 28 in Las Vegas. The couple is currently living in Lewiston.
Celebrations
Vern and Peggy Uhlorn celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family. They were married Sept. 30, 1954, in Cottonwood.
Almira Seubert celebrates her 85th birthday in Walla Walla, Wash. with family.
November
Elections were the big news the first week of November with the County Commissioner race of much concern to many in the county.
Football had a bad season in Cottonwood with no wins during the season for the Pirates.
Rehder and Doman won Commissioner seats and Dasenbrock was re-elected as Sheriff.
Heather Schierman and Kelby Wilson are students of the month at the High School for November.
Carl Schmidt received a special certificate for being a Lion’s Club member for 42 years.
Deaths 
Andrew T. Nuxoll, 75, died Nov. 4 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born Feb. 5, 1929 in Greencreek. Andy served in the Army and then came home to be a farmer.
Scott O. Schongalla, 51, died Nov. 7 in New Mexico. He was born July 5, 1953 in Virginia. He moved to Cottonwood at age 14 after his father retired from the U.S. Army.
Virgil W. Sprute, 76, died Nov. 12 at his home in Richland, Wash. The youngest of 12 children he was born Sept. 23, 1928 in Keuterville.
Harold A. Wessels, 82, died Nov. 20 in Lewiston. He was born Nov. 4, 1922 in Greencreek.
Celebrations
Irene A. Uptmor of Lewiston celebrated her 90th birthday in Lewiston. She was born Nov. 6, 1914 in Keuterville.
Edward and Isabel West celebrate 65 years together. They were married Oct. 17, 1939.
Engagements 
Jamie Nicole Mader and Dusty C. Forsmann to marry Nov. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood.

Erin Jeanne Wassmuth was born Aug. 11th to Eric and Alea Wassmuth of Greencreek.
Wedding
Miriana Kathrin Towne and Daniel Richard Uhlenkott were married Dec. 28, 2003 in New Port, New Hampshire.

The Lady Pirates won 67 to 17 with Nezperce Tuesday evening in Nezperce.
St. Mary’s and Clearwater Valley Hospitals receive a $500,000 USDA grant.
Nov. 27 Father Camillus Temba, ACLP Christens seen children at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
St. Mary’s Hospital receives a $450,000 grant to digitize z-ray film.
Ashley Schaeffer and Coach Travis Mader to go to Hawaii during holiday break.
Beckman, Riener, and Schaeffer win annual Christmas coloring contest in Cottonwood. 
Amanda Jackson is student of month at the High School for the month of December.
The second Christmas lighted parade and open house were declared a winner as parade entries grew and over twice as many people were served supper.
Food drives were driven by students, Scouts and adults to supply the food bank for the Christmas giving. (Just a reminder—the bank needs donations all year round.)
All of the school Christmas concerts were well attended this year.

Sr. Aquinas Schaecher, 91, died Nov. 25 at the Monastery of St. Gertrude. She was born June 25, 1913 in Cottonwood, the youngest child of Catherine Beller and Theodore Schaecher.
Lucille M. Seubert, 79, died Nov. 19 in Spokane, Wash. She was born Dec. 13 at Ferdinand.
John S. Wemhoff, 61, died Dec. 17. He was born Nov. 9. 1943 at Cottonwood
Adele M. Logan, 77, died Dec. 5 in Boise.
Weddings
Karie Noel Hall weds Kenneth Lawrence Geis Sept. 25 at Holy Cross Church in Keuterville. The couples are living in Cottonwood. 
Sarah Sonnen and Ethan Remacle married Oct. 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They are living at Cottonwood.
