Blood
drive set for July 21
As many of you know, the Red Cross Blood drive will be held in Cottonwood on Thursday, July 21 in the Cottonwood Community Hall from 12 noon to 6 pm. As always, we need you to step forward and give the 'gift of life'. There is a great need for blood any and all times of the year. Each blood donation has the potential to help three different people as blood is usually separated and given to people who need platelets, plasma or cryoprecipatate, the primary components of whole blood. Please call Irma Tacke at 962-3064 or Sally Terhaar at 962-3192 to make an appointment or to confirm the one you made in April at the last drive. We do have many time slots to fill. New donors are always welcome. You must be 17 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds. Be sure you eat foods that are rich in iron, such as Cream of Wheat, green leafy vegetables and raisins. On the day of the blood drawing, drink plenty of water and eat a good lunch. Don't forget to bring your ID, either your blood donor card or a drivers' license to provide identification. You cannot give without your ID. Thank you for your support in the past. You are great. There will be Maple Bars. |
