“Moonlight Serenade” Dinner Dance, March 25
Get your zoot suit or evening gown and dancing shoes ready. Relive the romantic era of swing music with tunes from the likes of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman. You are about to enter the 1930’s and 1940’s for one evening of memories at the Greencreek Community Hall, located six miles from Cottonwood, Idaho.
On March 25, in a benefit for The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude, the 16- member Hog Heaven Big Band from Moscow will perform music that makes everyone want to dance. One O’Clock Jump, Moonlight Serenade, Deep Purple, and Taking a Chance on Love are some of the melodies that bring to mind memories of the big band era and a time when you could slow dance or jitterbug the night away…or just listen to tunes with lyrics and melodies you could understand.
The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with a no-host cocktail time. Dinner begins at 6:30 with a menu including roast beef with all the trimmings. After we have a chance to roll back some of the tables, we will give the signal for the music to begin at 8:00.
The cost for this exquisite evening of food and dance is $20 for singles, $35 for couples. While not required, we do encourage you to dress in the styles of the 30’s and 40’s. We want our guests to enjoy the evening and to be able to relate to an era that is still only seen in movies of the time.
For information and tickets please call the museum at (208)962-2050. Attendance is limited to 300 people. Tickets are available at The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude, at the Country Haus in Cottonwood, or at Arnzen Drug in Kamiah. No tickets will be sold at the door so hurry before they are gone.
