ICLP
announces scholarship winners
A panel of five Idaho County Light & Power Cooperative members selected three area youth to receive the cooperative’s annual scholarship awards. Selected from a total of fourteen entries from throughout the ICLP service territory were Jacquie Lustig, Kayla Uhlenkott and Cori Wemhoff. Jacquie and Cori are both juniors at Summit Academy in Cottonwood and Kayla is a junior attending Cottonwood’s Prairie High School. Jacquie’s parents are Dominic and Gina Lustig. Kayla’s parents are Patrick and Connie Uhlenkott. And, Cori’s parents are Roger and Annette Wemhoff. Each will receive a $500 scholarship that they may use at the college or technical school of their choice. In addition, each will also attend the ICUA Youth Rally, a youth leadership conference sponsored by the Idaho Consumer-Owned Utilities Association. The Youth Rally attracts 70-80 young adults each year from the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. The cooperative offers this scholarship competition annually in March to the high school aged children of its member/consumers. Selections were based on scoring of a written essay and an interview with the judges. Competition rules are posted with the area high schools, also, on the cooperative’s website at www.iclp.coop and in the Ruralite magazine. |
