An agreement between Cottonwood Youth Sports and the Cottonwood City Council has been worked out and a lease agreement will be ready to sign by May 15.

Pirates beat Kendrick; win twice at District; Riener, Sonnen win at Area Best Meet
The Prairie baseball team won big in their season finale against Kendrick then beat Culdesac and Kendrick at District to advance to the championship game. They play Genesee Friday , May 12 at 3 p.m. at Kendrick. . . .

Adeline Lustig, daughter of Ed and Nancy Lustig, center, is the Valedictorian of the class of 2006 at Prairie High School.  Adeline has maintained a gpa of 4.0 throughout her 4 years of high school.  Sharing the salutatorian position will be Ashley Schaeffer and Dani Terhaar.  They both have a gpa of 3.7.  Ashley, right, is the daughter of Brian and Susan Schaeffer and Dani, left is the daughter of Curt and Joan Terhaar. The staff and administration of Prairie High School congratulate these students for their efforts. 

Prairie High School had 3 prom royalty instead of the usual two this year. King Pero Jolevski is flanked by co-queens Dawn Bower, left, and Dani Terhaar. 

Chris Kaschmitter of the Prairie Booster Club presents a check worth $500 to Greg Diess, principal at Prairie Elementary. The money will be used for library books and first aid kits.  

NaTosha Schaeffer and Kyle Holthaus were the attendance winners for the month of April at PMS. They received a fish tank and a gift certificate to Bob’s tropical fish for one free Beta fish.  

The Greencreek Active Workers 4-H club  is shown after they cleaned the roadsides in the Greencreek and Winona highway districts. This is a community service project that the club does every year.

Hunter Chaffee is shown with his Pizza Hut Reading Medal. Hunter is in Kindergarten and to earn his medal from Pizza Hut he had to read at least 10 books each month from October through March. Hunter received a certificate each month after he made his reading goal so that he could have a free personal pan pizza. After redeeming all 6 certificates Hunter was award for his great reading efforts with a reading medal. Congratulations Hunter!
