sweep doubleheader at Moscow
The Camas Prairie Zephyrs Senior Babe Ruth team swept a doubleheader at Moscow on Friday, June 30. They won the first game 10-8 and the second game 15-11. In the first game C.J. Rieman started and pitched 4 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 walk with 7 strikeouts. Brayden Healey pitched the final 3 innings and allowed 4 hits. Healey led the hitting attack with a double and 2 singles. Phillip Henry and Rieman had 2 singles each. Gene Fogleman had a double and Stephen Key, Cole, Caldwell and Jason Seloske each had a single. In the second game Key pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits with 1 strikeout. Fogleman finished up allowing 1 hit with 2 strikeouts. Rieman, Cole and Fogleman each had a double and single in the game. Seloske had 2 singles and 4 RBI. Key also had 2 singles while Henry and Caldwell each had a single. Wade Peterson picked up a few bruises as he reached base 3 times after being hit by pitches. Zephyrs beat Lewiston The Camas Prairie Zephyrs Senior Babe Ruth team picked up another win on Saturday, July 8 against Lewiston, 8-7. Stephen Key pitched 6 plus innings and gave up 6 hits, 5 earned runs and 8 walks with 4 strikeouts. Brayden Healey finished the game giving up 1 hit, 1 run and 2 walks with 1 strikeout in 1 plus innings. Justin Johnson led the hitting attack with 3 hits including a double. C.J. Rieman, Key and Wade Peterson had 2 hits each while Jason Seloske also had a hit. They play Lewiston again this coming Friday, July 14, with a doubleheader set to start at 5:30 p.m. Mader takes third at Winchester Rodeo Eric Mader placed third in the bareback competition at the Winchester Open Rodeo held July 1-2. His score of 73 was actually the second highest but there was a tie for first at 74 between riders from Elko, Nev. and Wilder, Idaho.
