Seven
vie for Fair Queen
There are seven young women this year who are competing to be part of the 2007 Idaho County Fair Royalty. They are Carly Behler, Lauren Duman, Jennifer Enneking and Brooke Holthaus of Cottonwood, Casandra Schaeffer of Ferdinand, Bonnie Reilly of Grangeville and Kendra Evans of Kooskia. The new queen and 2 princesses will be announced Friday, August 18, at the Idaho County Fair. She currently attends Prairie High School and has lived in Idaho County all her life. Carly is involved in 4-H group activities, Youth Group Organization, School Newspaper, Youth for Justice, Prairie League, and volleyball. She is on the honor roll and also does the videotaping of boys basketball games. Past Fair involvement includes 6 years of swine projects, 5 years of sewing, 3 years of Making the Most of Me, 7 years of scrapbooking, 1 year each of cooking and cake decorating and she has been on the Fashion Board for 2 years. She enjoys volleyball, photography, swimming, camping, boating, 4-wheeling, horse riding, babysitting, shopping, card games, cooking and planning parties. Jobs she’s held are babysitting, shop cleaning, caring and feeding horses, sweeping at construction site and mowing lawns. Lauren, a lifelong resident of Idaho County, is involved in dance, cheerleading and Zoo Crew at Prairie High School. She also is involved in Bible Study, Peer Ministry, Relay for Life and 4-H activities. In past Fairs she has been involved in sewing and teen leadership 4-H projects as well as served on the Fashion Board. She enjoys cooking, card making and gardening. She has worked doing sandblasting, lawn mowing and baby sitting. She currently attends Prairie High School and is a lifelong resident of Idaho County. Jennifer is sponsored by the Keuterville Livestock 4-H Club. She is involved in Drug-Free group, religious activities, is 1st Princess for Cottonwood Riding Club, Prairie League, Pirates in Action, Volleyball, Basketball, AAU basketball, Hallissey Basketball, Girls Scouts and is student body secretary. Previous Fair involvement includes dog, steer and sheep projects, stall decorating, numerous open class exhibits, sergeant of arms, and cleaned stalls as well as the fairgrounds. She enjoys basketball, horseback riding, camping, babysitting, spending times with family and friends and spending time with younger children. She has done babysitting and also worked part-time at Bovey’s Bed & Breakfast. Brooke is sponsored by the Camas Livestock 4-H Club. She has been involved with 4-H, softball, volleyball, Prairie League, Zoo Crew and Cottonwood Youth Sports. Previous fair involvement includes market lamb projects, Making the Most of Me, cooking, cake decorating, sewing, open class exhibits and she has served on the Fashion Board. She enjoys 4-wheeling, camping, volleyball, softball, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends. Jobs include babysitting, mowing lawns, and concessions for Cottonwood Youth Sports. She is sponsored by the Keuterville Livestock 4-H Club. She is involved in Prairie League, Zoo Crew, 4-H and will be junior class president. She has been involved in track, volleyball, Youth for Justice, Girl Scouts, Bible School, PHS Band and served as Football manager. She also was student body vice-president at Prairie Middle School. Past Fair involvement includes 5 years of lamb projects, 1 year each of cooking and photography projects. She has also served as historian and sergeant of arms for her 4-H club. She has also entered numerous open class exhibits and has decorated and cleaned stalls at the fair. She enjoys snowmobiling, motorcyle riding, 4-wheeling, snowboarding and spending time with family and friends. She currently works at Hoene Hardware and also cleans house, works at the family ranch/home and sometimes babysits. She is involved in quizzing, youth group and many school activities. She has been in 4-H for four years and has had projects at the Fair all four years. She enjoys reading, playing with her horse, church activities, Bible quizzing and spending time with her family. She works as a box girl at Grangeville Cash & Carry. She attends Clearwater Valley High School and has spent 14 of her 15 years living in Idaho County. She is sponsored by K & K Reporting and Clearwater Country Kids 4-H Club. She has participated in AAU basketball from 5th-8th grade as well as high school basketball. She also was an assistant coach fro AAU basketball this past year. She has participated in 4-H for 7 years and in the Leo Club working in the burger wagon. Past fair involvement includes 3 years of Making the Most of Me, 4 years of rabbit projects, 2 years of sheep projects, 1 year of ceramics and attended Know Your Government Conference 1 year. She enjoys card making, scrapbooking, basketball and being with friends and reading. |
