Youth Opportunities for November
As we look out the window and see the wind blow the leaves off the tree, we sense a feeling of sadness. Yet with this sadness we also feel an anticipation of the upcoming holidays where families and friends meet to share stories and celebrate the love that surrounds them during this joyous season. It is here in the month of November that we too gather as a church, where youth are given opportunities to thank God through participating in upcoming activities as members of His family. We will begin our month with a movie at the Junior High Peace Building at 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 3rd. The movie will be followed by Adoration at 10:00 p.m. On Nov. 5th all adult and youth interested helping out at the Idaho Catholic Youth Convention in March are asked to meet at St. Mary’s parking lot at 11:00 a.m. We will be heading to Moscow to meet with other North Central Deanery youth groups to begin our planning process. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated. (The meeting starts at 1:00 p.m. and should last 2 hours). On Nov. 6th the Peer Ministers will meet at the Church office at 7:30 p.m. You are encouraged to attend mass at 6:30 prior to the meeting at St. Mary’s Church. The focus of this session will be prayer. On Nov. 7th at 7:00 p.m. all High School youth are encouraged to attend a planning meeting at the JHPB for making Thanksgiving baskets that will be distributed at the end of the month. This is a great time to give back to the community and support others by giving because of all that God has given us! Call Stacie Dinning for questions or details. On Nov 8th Debbie’s Confirmation will be meeting at the JHPB at 7:00 p.m. On Nov. 11th the youth will be serving at the Duman/Riener wedding all servers need to meet at the Greencreek hall at 6:00 p.m. also 7:00 p.m. the youth will be celebrating their monthly youth mass. All youth are encouraged to attend. On Nov. 13th at 7:30 p.m. all High School youth are invited to a Bible Study at the Church office. Please bring your Bibles and e prepared to discuss the book of Job; Chapter 5-6. We have an adult leadership meeting on Nov. 15th to discuss the upcoming Light Parade and the Alumni Game. All youth and adults who are on the Leadership team or who have been involved in planning these activities in the past are encouraged to attend. Your input and presence is greatly appreciated!! On Nov. 20th at 6:00 p.m. all youth and adults who are bringing food and making Thanksgiving baskets are asked to meet at the JHPB. We need to have the baskets filled and ready for delivery by 6:45 so please arrive on time. On Nov. 21st Debbie’s Confirmation class will have class at the JHPB at 7:00 p.m. On Nov. 29th the Peer Ministers will be hosing the Jr. High Bible Study at the JHPB at 7:00 p.m. All Junior High youth are invited and encouraged to attend. (Bring your Bibles) During the last week of November I will be gone on vacation from Nov. 25-29 and will be attending the National Catholic Youth Convention from Nov. 30th to Dec. 3rd. I will be returning on Dec. 4th. Please pray for me as God refreshes my soul and continues to guide and strengthen me to His work with the youth of our parishes. Thank you is a great thing to say in November, so I would like you all to know how much I appreciate your support and encouragement. Also, please continue to pray for our youth as they are step forward to embrace and learn more about who they are as God’s children and children within our Church, parishes and communities.
