Ingredients Community Events
The Historical Museum at St.Gertrude invites the public to the last two community events that are connected to the current Smithsonian traveling exhibit entitled Key Ingredients: America by Food. On Thursday evening, November 30, Diane Mallickan from the Nez Perce National Historical Park and Gwen Carter from the Nez Perce Tribe will talk about Nez Perce food traditions. The talk will be in the Cottonwood Community Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m. with coffee and cookies served. On Saturday, December 2, the museum will be host to a Nez Perce dinner put on by the Longhouse Group with Indian fry bread tacos and more. Cost of the dinner is $7. That dinner will also be at the Cottonwood Community Hall from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Key Ingredients: America by Food will be closing on December 2. You are encouraged to view this educational and cultural exhibit sponsored by the Idaho Humanities Council, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude. The exhibit is located in the Spirit Center at the Monastery of St. Gertrude and is open Tuesday thru Saturday, 9:30 to 4:30. Admission is FREE. |
