The Chronicle publisher displayed a copy of the Congressional record of an entry about Pat and Bob Wherry and their ownership of the Cottonwood Chronicle for 30 years. St. Mary’s Clinics report over 23,000 visits during the year. As happens each year we lost some of our favorite citizens and their place was filled by new borns at the hospital so our population stays about the same. Three classes of Fundamentals of Technology made and gave an assortment of gifts to the long term care patients and preschool students. Students of the month of December at the High School are Tabitha Sonnen and Sam Forsmann. Bill Hill was sworn in as the new councilman. The Hangout, a new business in Cottonwood, held a grand opening January 14. Owners are Debbie and Ron Schnider and Melissa Sonnen. Students of the month for January at the High School were Bridget Enneking and Dani Terhaar. Engagements Darbie Lamb and Craig Duclos to wed Feb.18. Desiree Lillie Uhlenkott and Nicholas James Gehring to wed Feb. 4. Wedding: Branwen Elanor Thomas to Larry Anthony Goeckner July 23 at Holy Cross Church. Births: Philomena Rose Horton born Nov. 22 to Ralyn and Marcus Horton of Cottonwood. Karleigh Rae Grant born on November 19 to Rodney and Noelle Grant of Lewiston. Cougar Joseph Mager born Dec. 24 to Greg and Erin Mager of Gillette, WY. Kamrynn Ann Marie Felton born Jan. 14 to Arica and Josh Felton of Cottonwood. Cressida Mackenzie Chapman was born Dec. 16 to April and Brian Chapman of Kuna, ID. Deaths: Magdalena M. Hoene, 96, died Jan. 23 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Mike Karel was first place and Joshwa Zigler was second in the school spelling bee. Dr. Andrew Gilbert, M.D. will be the doctor joining the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital replacing Dr. Jeff Edwards. Ron Funke announces for the position of Idaho county assessor in the coming elections. Jim Beckman is retiring. Engagement Samuel Nuxoll and Eliza Sprague to wed May 12 in Yosemite National Park. Births: Noah Thomas Beckman born January 7 to Matt and Linda Beckman. Deaths: Clara A. Morris, 85, died Jan. 27 in Olympia Elizabeth “Peg” Uhlorn, 80, died Jan. 29. Peg was co-owner of Uhlorn Funeral Home. Joseph F. Geis, 77, died Feb. 3 at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Lewiston. Vera Marie Brannan, 91, died Feb. 9 at St. Mary’s Hospital Joseph A. Frei, 79 died Feb. 7 at his home in Grangeville George H. Enneking, 70, died Feb. 17 at his home. George was a business man at a long time Idaho County Commissioner. The Historical Museum to celebrate 75 years in 2006. Articles will tell of events which happen during the 75 years. Dani Terhaar and Christopher Schumacher are the Elk’s Teenager of the Month. Both students from Prairie High School. Brandon Rehder and Lauren Wemhoff from Summit attend the Elk’s Student of the Year Dinner. Engagement: Ellen Nuxoll to Michael Crabtree to wed July 22. Weddings: Stacey Anne Mankin to Andrew Joseph Harman Married Aug. 27, 2006, in Orofino. Angelique Tillinghast to Thad Mader married Nov. 3, 2006. Births: Grace Bea Gehring born Feb. 28 to Darren and Jennifer Gehring of Carnation, Washington. Millie Lynn Snyder Born March 1 to Chad and Elizabeth Snyder of Nampa, Idaho. Deaths: Marguerite D. Backman, 75, died Feb. 25 in Coeur d’Alene. Rex L. Bunney, 65, died March 5, at Cottonwood. He was a businessman and long time Lion’s Club member. Theodore L. Kaschmitter, 73, Died March 20 in Boise. He was a farmer and a lover of music. Dr. Jeremy Ostrander joins St. Mary’s Hospital staff working in Kamiah two days and in the Cottonwood Clinic two days each week. Two escape from N.I.C.I. Monday evening, April 24. Engagements: Neil Joseph Uptmor and Amy Kathleen Stillman to wed May 20 in Lewiston. Jeremy Joseph Remacle and Melinda Louise Eby to wed May 8 in Keuterville. Births: Maureen Catherine Fay born Oct. 7, 2005 to Renee and Terry Fay of Rowland, Texas. Deaths: Alphonse A. Seubert, 89, died April 5 in California. Claudia (Weiand) Sada, 82, died March 15.
