Shooters perfect in first week of trapshoot
The Cottonwood, Nezperce, Grangeville and Kamiah Gun Clubs were the only clubs to score 75 in the first week of the CPTA ten week trap shoot. 18 teams are competing again this year. The same scoring system that has been used for the past several years is being used. Each club reports thier score based on the number of shooters participating that day and averaged based on a perfect 75 total score. The junior team posted a score of 64 lead by Derek Schaeffer 23, Robert Gilmore 21, and Ashley Schaeffer 20. . . .

Summit to have two senior nights; Girls extend winning streak; Boys win 1 of 3
Summit Academy's seven seniors will be honored in two separate games this week, the boys prior to their home game against Highland this Thursday evening at the Prairie High gym, jv at 6:00 and varsity following at 7:30. . . .
Hitting on all cylinders, Summit Academy's lady Patriots have added four more victories to their record in the past two weeks, extending to six their new winning streak which was halted momentarily by Kendrick in the Prairie Christmas tournament, their only loss of the season. . . .
Minus their coach in attendance at a funeral, the Summit Patriot boys fell on hard times on their road trip north last weekend, dropping two contests to teams they had defeated earlier in the year. . . .

Dusty Dawn Bashaw was the first baby born at St. Mary’s Hospital in 2007, arriving at 4:50 a.m. on January 10. Dusty weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. and was 20¾ inches long. Parents are Richard and Heather Bashaw of Grangeville. Shown are Dr. J. Ostrander, Heather and Dusty and Dusty’s older brother Triston, age 9, and sister Megan, age 4. 


DebeeAnn Thompson makes quite a transformation from civilian clothes (top photo) to Army fatigues (bottom photo). She has received orders for deployment to Baghdad, Iraq and will be leaving Jan. 25. See story at left. 

The PHS dance team performed at halftime of the girls game against C.V. last Tuesday evening. They have a competition at Kamiah this Saturday. 

The PHS band performed before the game and during halftime of the girls league game against Kendrick last Friday. 

The PeeWee Pirates help cheer the PHS girls to victory last Tuesday evening. Prairie Elementary students got “VIP passes” into the game.
