'Best
snow ever' this past weekend
Skiers at Cottonwood Butte Ski Area experienced the best snow ever this past weekend. Saturday we accumulated 12 new inches of snow and it was like silk. The boards glided like they were riding on butter. Our groomer couldn't keep up with the accumulation but that didn't matter to all of the powder hounds. On Sunday, we skied beautifully groomed runs. Monday, we hosted Highland Jr. and Sr. High School. The temperatures were a bit warmer but students had a great time. Thanks to Highland School District for sharing your students with us for a day. They are a great group and thanks to all the adult volunteers who helped out. We couldn't have done it without you. Hopefully, your students will be ready for a new quarter and the memories of your day on the slopes will be heard in the halls for days. There's nothing like a little fresh air and exercise to lift you out of the winter doldrums and adjust attitudes. Wednesday we will be hosting Prairie High School. Notice we are no longer skiing on Friday nights. We will be skiing a long Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. We are reporting 44" at the top and 32" at the base. The road is in good condition so there is no excuse. Make the Escape the Cottonwood Butte Ski Area. |
