Ski
Scoop
Not to sound like a "valley girl" but Oh My Gosh! Cottonwood Butte Ski Area was able to be open again this past weekend. This skier was down with the "bug of the season", but reports from the hill are that it was really good snow. A good number of skiers showed up despite the short notice. I guess they just have a sixth sense about snow and all of us who love to ski this area keep in contact because we know that the snow can be an on-again, off-again sort of thing. And when there is new snow there is not a better place to be. We plan to be open again next weekend. Our hours will be Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm each day. We'll plan a fun activity next weekend so check in the lodge to join the fun. If the snow permits we will be open for the next two weekends and then spring fever hits the prairie and it will be all over. So we are all going to enjoy the last remnants of winter on our skis. Cliff and Mary Jane Arnzen are giving beginner lessons at a very reasonable price and they'll have you coming down the big hill in no time. Also, as always we have a special rate for rentals with a lesson. We are reporting 18" of snow at the base and 24" at the top. New snow is forecast for this week so hopefully we will be skiing on new snow. Spring skiing is wonderful and a great way to get in that much needed exercise. So make the escape to Cottonwood Butte Ski Area. |
