Riener
earns a 2nd and 3rd at Lewiston meet
J. D. Riener had a 2nd and a 3rd place finish at the Lewiston Invitational Track Meet Saturday, March 17. Riener placed second in the discus with a mark of 1461 and third in the shot put with a mark of 500. Tabitha Sonnen had the only top 4 finish for the girls with a fourth in the triple jump at 3011½ although it appeared Nicole Nida should have been either third or fourth in the 100 meter dash. Nida won her heat and appeared to finish fourth in the final but somehow got dropped to seventh lace with a time of 13.56. Nida also competed in the 200 meter dash, winning her heat to make the finals where she finished fifth. Sonnen finish 7th in the 100 meter hurdles final in 17.80. She was also 7th in the 300 hurdles. Kaylee Uhlenkott and Charlene Duman competed in the shot put and discus. Uhlenkott was 6th in the shot put at 337 with Duman 10th at 319. In the discus Duman made the finals, finishing 8th with a mark of 10310. Uhlenkotts best toss was 80.
JVs at Lapwai meet Members of the Prairie track team not competing at the Lewiston Invitational competed in a 13-school meet at Lapwai on Saturday, March 17. David Sigler finished 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 23.6 and third in the 100 meter dash in 12.1. The 4x400 meter relay team of Sigler, Vit Spanhel, John Rice and Tyrell Langston finished first in a time of 4:04.2. The only top 3 finisher for the girls team was Christa Wilson who took third in the shot put at 2411½.
