Dance team earns state trophy
The Prairie High School Dance Team returned from the State Dance/Cheer Championships with... a trophy!  The
Prairie girls managed to capture a third place in the Kick Division.
This ended the season a very high note since this was Prairie's first trip
to the state competition. According to team coach Shelli Schumacher
" Some on the team were very nervous before going on the floor, but they
persevered. The girls were exceptionally happy to have done well."
The team also got to observe up close and personal the 36 other teams competing in the school divisions 5A - 2A/1A. This experience can only benefit the Prairie High team in the future. The girls now have this new experience under their belt, which should positively affect their performances next season. The only other district II team attending was Potlatch. They managed to pull in a 5th in Military, a 2nd in Prop and a 4th in Dance. The PHS girls were only out of the placing in the Military by 4 points of a possible 300 points in that division.
