Girls
win team title at Kamiah
The Prairie girls track team won the team title in an 11-school track meet held at Kamiah last Thursday, March 22. Nicole Nida, and Tabitha Sonnen for the girls and J.D. Riener for the boys, each won 2 events. Nida won the 200 meter dash in 28.1 and the 400 in 1:03.2 while taking second in the 100 at 13.39. Sonnen won the 100 hurdles in 17.2, the 300 hurdles in 51.5 and was second in the triple jump at 30’7”. Riener won the discus with a heave of 151’6” and the shot put with a mark of 49’7”. Kaylee Uhlenkott was also an event winner as she won the girls shot put at 32’9”. Also placing in the top three were Sienna Benton, third in the 800 at 2:40; Samantha Frei, third in the high jump at 4’4” and Jake Holthaus, third in the triple jump at 37’10”. The girls team also had 3 relay teams place in the top 3. The 800 relay was third in 2:01.9. The medley relay was 2md in 2:10.3 and the 1600 relay was second in 4:41. Next action for the Prairie track team will be the Clearwater River Invitational, which will be at Kamiah on April 7.
