Dillards
take 1st place
Nolan and Kevin Dillard took 1st Place at the Regional History Day competition, Group Exhibit, Junior Division. National History Day was held in Lewiston, on March 17. Every year there is a different theme that the competitors have to go by. This year's theme was "Triumph and Tragedy in History". Nolan and Kevin Dillard chose the title "The Rise and the Fall of the Berlin Wall". They interviewed several people for their project, including their Grandpa, Virgil Wassmuth, who was stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. They really enjoyed learning about this subject, and even listened to a recording of JFK's and Reagan's speeches at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. They went to Boise on April 13 to compete at the State Competition. Although they didn’t win there, they had a great time competing with others in their age group. Nolan and Kevin are the grandsons of Virgil and Donna Wassmuth of Greencreek. |
