Hopefully everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July holiday.
It should serve to remind us that our government, Federal, State and local,
is designed to be “of the people by the people” and what the majority desires;
then the majority’s desires must be met. Just such a decision currently
faces the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council regarding
the placement of a cellular tower on public property to serve the town
and surrounding area with reliable cell phone and high speed wireless service.

Tournament is this weekend
The St. Mary's Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament scheduled for this
weekend still has some spots available for additional team. The 18
Hole Scramble at the Grangeville Golf and Country Club has a 3:00 p.m.
tee time. Registration begins at 2:00 p.m. To preregister please

It was the usual large crowd for breakfast at the
Greencreek 4th of July Celebration. The tables were kept mostly full throughout
the morning.

Terry Cochran is reading to the children at the Summer
Reading Program at Prairie Community Library. The reading program will
continue this week from 1:00 to 3:00 with Nancy Connolley from the Nez
Perce National Historical Park in Spaulding. All children ages pre-school
through 4th grade are invited.

of cakes for the famous raspberry shortcakes available at the Raspberry
