Youth activities for October
With every season come opportunities for spiritual growth and life. It is here during this month of October I would like to invite you to join us in the local youth ministry activities. (Week 1) The Team for Africa (TFA) will meet on Oct. 1st @ 6:00 p.m. @ Lauretta Poxleitner’s house in Keuterville to make sauerkraut for the upcoming German dinner. Call Lauretta if you need directions. The Bread of Life small group Bible study will meet in Debbie’s office @ 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 3. All High School Youth are invited to the JHPB on Oct. 5 @ 8:00 p.m. to watch a movie, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will follow @ 10:00 p.m. @ St. Mary’s Church. Please bring a snack for the movie, pop will be provided. On Oct. 6th there will be a Acoustic Jam Session at the Coffee Mill from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Come and join the fun! All ages are Welcome! (Week 2) All youth signed up for Community Service small group need to meet at St. Gertrude’s Monastery @ 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 7th to clean up after Engaged Encounter. On Oct. 8th @ 3:30 all Peer Ministers are asked to meet in Debbie’s office to plan the Jr. High Faith session. On Oct. 10th @ 7:00 p.m. the Life Issues small group will meet in Debbie’s office. The focus of the meeting will be on relationships based on the book “Theology of the Body for Teens.” (Week 3) On Oct. 14th the youth will help the KC’s at the KC Breakfast. All helpers need to be at the KC hall @ 6:30 a.m. On Oct. 15th @ 7:00 p.m. the TFA will meet at the JHPB to finalize plans for the German dinner. All team members need to be present. On Oct. 20th the Confirmation Retreat @ St. Mary’s will begin @ 1:00 p.m. and continue until after the 7:00 p.m. youth mass. Please eat lunch before you come to the retreat, dinner will be provided. Please bring $35.00 and your baptismal certificate to the retreat. (Week 4) On Oct. 21st the TFA will host a German Dinner @ the KC hall from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The public is invited. We would love to see you there. All proceeds from the dinner go toward the 2008 mission trip to Africa in July. On Oct. 22nd the Healing Prayer Small group led by Cherie Seubert and myself will meet at 7:00 p.m. The location will be announced later. On Oct. 24th @ 7:00 p.m. the Jr. High Faith Session will take place at the JHPB. This faith session will be led by the High School Peer Ministers. All Jr. High youth are encouraged to attend. On Sat. Oct. 27th all High School Youth are invited to our annual Scavenger Hunt. We will meet @ the JHPB @ 5:00 p.m. The hunt will be followed by a celebration of pizza and pop. Come and join us in a night of searching, fun, and food. (Week 5) On Oct. 29th Debbie’s Confirmation Group will meet at the JHPB at 7:30 p.m. We will discuss Chapter 2. Please bring your $35.00 and Baptismal Certificate. Oct. 30th all of the High School and Jr. High youth at the Coffee Mill from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., for a social. Please bring $5.00 for food and drinks. Come and meet with your friends and have some fun! I pray that your month is filled with the blessings of a new season and that you embrace all of the opportunities that come your way with the love of Christ!
