Youth activities for January
As the new year begins, we reflect on the memories of the past year and make pledges toward new goals for the upcoming year. It is this newness the local youth are invited to join us in the Tri-Parish January Activities. Week 1- On Jan. 4th the High School youth are invited to the J.H.P.B. to watch a movie, following the movie we will attend Adoration at St. Mary’s Church. Please join us as we take time to worship the Lord during the Christmas season. On Jan. 7th, the Girls’ Bread of Life Bible Study will meet at 7:00 p.m. in Debbie’s Office. Please bring your books. On Jan. 9th the high school Renew group will meet at the J.H.P.B. at 7 p.m. to begin their session on the Theology of the Body by Pope John Paul II. All High School youth signed up for this session are encouraged to attend. On January 12th, the Team for Africa is hosting a business chili cook-off. Several of our downtown businesses will be competing for the title of “2008 Business Chili Cook-Off Winner!” The team will be selling bracelets for the public to purchase; with these bracelets you will be able to taste the chili and then vote for your favorite. The bracelets will be available at St. Mary’s office for a cost of $10.00. They will also be available at the participating businesses and at Lauretta Poxleitner’s office downtown. All voting will also take part at Lauretta’s office. Thank you for your support and enjoy the chili! Week 2- On January 12th Debbie’s Confirmation group will meet at the J.H.P.B. at 4 p.m. Pleast bring your books. We will discuss Chapter 4. On Jan. 15th, Peer Ministry meeting in Debbie’s Office at 3:30 to plan January’s “Reach” session. On January 16th, the Team for Africa will meet at the J.H.P.B. at 7 p.m. to plan for the Super Bowl chili and cinnamon roll delivery fundraiser. All members need to be present. The Youth Mass is at St. Mary’s at 7 p.m. All youth are encouraged to attend. Week 3- On Jan. 21st, the Healing Prayer small group will meet at 7 p.m. The location will be announced in the bulletin. All adults and youth are invited to join us in prayer. On Jan. 23rd, REACH, led by the Peer Ministers will meet at the J.H.P.B. for the monthly faith session. All High School and Jr. High youth are invited. Week 4- Debbie’s Confirmation class will meet at the J.H.P.B. at 7 p.m. We will discuss Chapter 5. Please bring your books. On Jan. 30th all Jr. High and High School youth are invited to the Coffee Mill for our monthly social. Please bring $5.00 for drinks and snacks. We look forward to seeing you and your friends.
