Pirates win at Kamiah
The Prairie Lady Pirates completed a season sweep of Kamiah when they won 35-29 on the Kubs home floor Thursday, January 3. Defense and rebounding were the keys for the Pirates. Prairie took a 9-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 18-11 by halftime. Kim Schaeffer scored 7 of points in the half. Prairie led 25-17 after 3 quarters and held off Kamiah’s attempted comeback in the fourth. Tiffany Schaeffer wound up as Prairie’s leading scorer with 10 points with Kaylee Uhlenkott scoring 8, Jennifer Enneking and Kim Schaeffer 7 each, and Hilaree VanderPas 1. With the win Prairie improves to 9-5 on the season. From here on out the rest of their games are league games. The JV team rolled to a big win as they outscored the Kubs 48-27.
