CONGRATULATIONS
TO THE 2008 CVRA QUEEN TAYLOR WEMHOFF!!
Taylor Wemhoff, the 15 years old daughter of Jim and Rhonda Wemhoff of Kamiah has been named 2008 queen of the Clearwater Valley Rodeo Association (CVRA). Taylor is a Freshman at Nezperce High School and has been riding horses since she was 4 years old. Her horse, Eldon, is a new addition to their family as of last year and he is a beautiful quarter horse palomino gelding. Taylor has been involved in horse 4-H for 4 years and loves riding on the family ranch just out of Kamiah. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work and we are sure that Taylor will do a super job representing our community this year. Taylor’s tiara is being donated by the Jewelers of America through Johnson’s Jewelry of Kamiah and Orofino. The CVRA members would like to give a Big thank you to all of the volunteers who came to judge the royalty competition on March 15th. They were as follows: Vicky Williams, Skip Roberts, Tammy Harding, Ara Lycan, and Kathleen Messenger. We would also like to give a tremendous “Thank You” to all of the CVRA members who stayed and worked so hard to clean up the grounds and helped with the maintenance. We have a long way to go and would appreciate any and all contributions from our community to continue and complete the projects so that we can make our annual CVRA Rodeo a great success this year and for so many years to come. We are welcoming new membership at any time. If you would like to contribute, please attend our next work days, April 5th and April 13th at 10 a.m. at the CVRA grounds. If you would like to donate building materials, gravel, sand, or anything else needed by our association, please contact Mike Stanton at 935-0837 or Jody Brown at 926-4982. We are also selling raffle tickets for a 2008 Honda 420 4X4 ATV provided by MAC’s Cycle in Clarkston. We are only selling 500 of these so your odds of winning are great. Tickets are available at The Hub, Kamiah Flower Shoppe, and Northwest Feeds in Kamiah. We are also raffling off a carved bear donated by Joe Sams with all proceeds going to the CVRA scholarship fund. We will be selling the bear tickets through rodeo time. We will have tickets available at all events. Both drawings will be held at the 2008 CVRA Rodeo on June 28th and 29th. Our drill team is underway as well for the area kids to have some Summer Fun! The CVRA will be hosting many events this year, please feel free to participate.
