Fire
training exercise set for Monday
The Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a training exercise next Monday evening, April 21, in a house at 1301 School Street that was gutted by fire last year. Traffic on School Street and Butler Street within a block of the training location may be obstructed or rerouted due to the positioning of fire engines, hoses, and personnel. The training will last approximately 2 to 3 hours beginning about 7:00 p.m. The fire department requests residents to be patient and understanding of any inconvenience which may occur. This exercise will involve creating smoke in the building and conducting search and fire attack drills. This type of training is very valuable since it provides practice that is very similar to an actual fire incident. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Chief Rod Behler at 962-3171 or City Clerk Carol Altman at 962-3231. |
