Cub
Scout camp held
This past week, June 29-July 2, two local Cub Scouts attended Cub Scout Resident Camp at Camp Grizzly. Philip Spencer, 2nd year Webelos and Hunter Chaffee, Bear Cub, attended a 3 night, 4 day camping adventure. They were on a mission to find the Maltese Grizzly. The camp’s mascot was missing. If they didn’t find the idol they would have to sell Camp Grizzly. The boys canoed, shot BB guns, took part in archery and went on a scavenger hunt for clues and did compass work. In the end Dirk and Duff put all the clues together and found out that staff member Ivan had the Maltese Grizzly. The staff threw Ivan in the pond and Camp Grizzly was saved. Pack 638 shared camp area Chapel Hill with Pack 119 from Lewiston (shown in the accompanying photo with the big grizzly.) Hunter Chaffee shoots a BB gun at a target. Philip Spencer tries his hand at shooting a bow and arrow. |
