Police Chief Terry Cochran reads to the children at the Library’s Summer Reading Program.  The program will resume this Thursday at 1:30 until 3:00.  Any child is invited to attend.  We'll have more crafts, songs, stories.  There is also a "create your own bug" contest.  Call the library at 962-3714 or Aleta at 962-3724.

Attendees at the Summer Reading Program at Prairie Community Library did a caterpillar craft.

Donna Wassmuth is reading to the kids from one of her personalized books.  If anyone orders a book from her during the summer reading program, Donna will donate $3.00 to the library.

Last week the Center For Discovery took eleven eager campers out to Graham Park for an over night camping trip.  They enjoyed setting up camp, playing games, visiting around the campfire, seeing wild life, and got to eat two delicious campfire meals.  They also had a great time roasting marshmallows and making smores and popcorn.  The next morning they got to go on a mile walk down to the creek to retrieve a crawdad trap set the night before.  The kids had a great time and hopefully we will get to do this again next summer.  We would like to thank Edna Johnston for letting us use her camp ground for this event.

The BackCountry Medics helicopter had a fly-in presentation at St. Mary’s Hospital on June 14. See story above left.
