Sports Meeting Aug. 14
Athletes, Parents, and interested community members: Prairie High School will be holding our fall sports meetings on August 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the high school. Teams will meet with their coaches until 7:00 to discus schedules, paperwork, season expectations, and the new requirements for the District drug testing policy. At 7:30 all athletes and parents can attend the drug awareness presentation featuring Joan Renshaw and Mike Quintal who will be giving a presentation on the current trends of drug use in our area. They will also bring paraphernalia samples and be ready to answer questions. Afterward, we will have a notary available to parents and athletes who would like to have their signatures notarized for the new District drug testing policy before the start of practices. Please bring a picture ID if you would like to have this free notary service done. All athletes, cheerleaders, and dance team members must attend. Football practice starts Monday The first day of football practice for the PHS football team will be Monday, August 18 at 7 p.m. ALL 9th and 11th graders MUST have a physical before they can practice. Also ALL football players must attend the meeting Thursday, August 14 at the PHS cafeteria at 7 p.m. Spirit packs are available for $40 or you can buy individual items for the following prices: Shirt-$12; Shorts-$12; Hat-$15; Socks-$4; Mouthpiece-$1. Bowling Already????? No its not bowling season but in another 4 weeks it will be. The Morning Glories are looking for new Bowlers. We bowl Tuesday Mornings at 9:00 at the Prairie Imperial Bowl in Craigmont. We car pool from Cottonwood leaving the Hair Hut parking lot about 8:30. For all our past bowlers we are looking forward to seeing you. If for any reason you cannot Bowl this year please contact your team Captain and let her know and tell her if you have a replacement or not. For anyone interested in spending a fun filled 2 hours – sometimes a little longer – and you want to join please call Jeanie VonBargen at 983-2022, Sally Duman at 962-3509 or Gladys Sonnen at 962-5957. If one of these 3 do not answer please leave a message with your name and phone number and they will contact you. Hope to see many of you with Bowling Ball and Shoes in hand to have some fun on Sept. 9th our first day. We will leave Cottonwood by 8:15 on the 9th to be able to have a short meeting and fill out papers. Watch for more news. Mixed league to start Sept. 3 Cottonwood Mixed Bowling League will be starting Wednesday, Sept. 3 with a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Prairie Imperial Bowl in Craigmont. The first night of league bowling will follow the meeting. Anyone interested in bowling in the league this year, which normally bowls at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, is asked to call either Gladys Sonnen at 962-5957 or Greg Wherry at 962-3556 or just come to the meeting. Teams are 4-person, any mix. We look forward to seeing you there. Thursday Men to start Sept. 11 The Thursday Men bowling league is set to start on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at Prairie Imperial Bowl in Craigmont. Following the meeting we will have the first night of league bowling. Teams are 3-man with leagues starting at 7 p.m. each Thursday and lasting for 30 weeks. Anyone interested in joining the league this year can contact Nate Stigum at 924-5800 or Greg Wherry at 962-3556 or just come to the meeting ready to bowl. Hope to see you there. |
