Guyer plays for AAU softball team
During this summer Kara Guyer participated in a traveling sixteen and under AAU traveling softball team from Lewiston, called the Northwest Bombers.  The team consisted of girls from Genesee, Lewiston, Clarkston and Oregon.  The girls traveled to tournaments in Spokane, Washington, Coeur d’ Alene, Boise and finishing with the Western Regional tournament in Portland Oregon.  The girls conducted numerous fund raising events throughout the year to raise money for uniforms and entrance fees.
The tournaments were highly competitive with numerous future college players playing.  The Bombers did very well in all tournaments winning or placing in most.  The finally was the Western National Tournament in Portland Oregon July 29th through August 3rd.  Ninety-nine teams in all were represented from the western states including Hawaii and Alaska.  The Bombers did well with a record of 2-2, in regular play, with all the games being very close.
The Bombers were coached by Dave Garrett, Toby Baldwin and Jere Michael.  A special thank you to Coach Travis Mader for getting Kara a tryout with the Bombers last Fall.
