Union to celebrate
More than 177 million credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Week Oct. 13-17, to commemorate the credit union movement’s history and achievements. In honor of this special event Cottonwood Community Federal Credit Union invites the community to celebrate with refreshments from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. The celebrate will be taking place at both their Cottonwood and Craigmont locations. Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide an effective and viable alternative to for-profit financial institutions for more than 177 million members in 96 countries worldwide. They exist to serve their members, providing a safe place to save money and access affordable loans. Cottonwood Community Federal Credit Union has assets of over $52 million and serves Idaho and Lewis Counties with branches in Cottonwood and Craigmont. This year’s theme of International Credit Union Week is It Belongs to Me™ which underlines the credit union and cooperative spirit. Reminding all of us that credit unions were found not for profit, not for charity, but for service. |
