invites people to Memorial Service
St. Mary’s Hospital is reminding community members that a Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, November 22 at 1:30 p.m. The service will honor and remember area individuals who have passed away this past year. The annual event will be held at the St. Gertrude’s Monastery Spirit Center, but anyone needing a ride can meet at the SMHC parking lot at 1:00 p.m. for transportation. A Memorial Tree featuring names of the recently deceased on white star ornaments is part of the ceremony. Afterwards, the tree will be placed in the clinic entrance until Christmas. The No One Shall Die Alone volunteers are coordinating this year’s service. NOSDA volunteers provide an end of life presence for individuals who have no family members nearby or whose family members need a respite from the bedside. They visit within the hospital, retirement centers or long term care facilities.
