honored as 'Reps of the Year'
The DM Discoveries (DMD) Area Rep of the year award was presented this past week to Dan and Laurie Karel of Cottonwood by DMD. Terri Smith, DMD Rocky Mountain Regional Manager presented the award during DMD’s annual incentive trip which took place in Greece! Dan and Laurie Karel bring the world to Northern Idaho every year, making it their job to help find homes for over a dozen foreign exchange students. They were honored as Reps of the year for their dedication to DMD for this past year and all the years they have worked. In selecting the recipient of this award, DMD looks for a person or persons who have demonstrated an overall interest and love of student exchange. Student Exchange is a rewarding experience for the school, the students, and the families who host the foreign exchange students. Ms. Smith describes the student exchange program as a cultural exchange based program, during which hundreds of foreign students are introduced to America every year. “We send them back to their home countries as our American Ambassadors”, she added.
